Hangar Bay - Deck 3 - Battlestar Orion
Each hangar deck is divided into five one-hundred yard sections, each divided from the others by massive blast doors that close vertically from the floor and overhead. Each hangar section houses all of the Vipers, Raptors, and Predators that the wing operates as well as the vital work areas to support and maintain these fighting platforms. Each bay is large enough to accommodate one of these frames and still get heavy work done, though the fore- and aft-most sections are dedicated to overhauls and major work to be done. The bays along the center section are located across from launch tubes and elevators in order to provide scramble and Alert-Five capabilities. The second-to-aft bay provides major elevator and transport access to the starboard bay as well as the major manufacturing facility. Due to the nature of the work, the hangar decks are major hubs of activity at all hours of the day and all but four hours overnight.
AWD #267

Kelsey's Raptor came back with a 20mm hole blasted through the door towards the ECO seat and there was a big mess inside. Sadly for the crews, the shot missed the pilot but misted the ECO. But she's still gotta fly and Kelsey is rated for a medevac mission down to an area behind friendly lines north of Crandall. The ECO is some yahoo who doesn't seem to care too much about what is happening, but Kelsey is already looking tired and its only day three of fourteen. Glad in her flightsuit, helmet in her hand, she's carrying a bulging nylon bag beside her. Spotting Toby, her craft already pre-flighted and spun up, she walks over to him. "Hey. Shackleton!" She only makes sure he's not holding anything important before she tosses the bag to him. "Put that on. Raptor Eight One Eight, five minutes ago. You wanted practice, well haul ass. Let's go. I need a door gunner." She's already turning and walking back to her on-load Raptor.

Toby looks, like most of the inhabitants of the hanger bay, tired. He's just finsihed stripping down and rebuilding a troublesome ejector seat and is just replacing it's 'defective' red tag with a 'good to go' blue one as he hears his name. A quick tug to check it's attached firmly and he turns in time to catch the bag and peer at it questioningly for a moment before the rest of Kelsey's words arriveand he looks up sharply to the Ensign. Then down at the bag. Then at the Ensign. That seems to do it though and he's moving in the same direction, calling out to one of the other techs to let them know just where he's going and why.

Once in the Raptor, Toby will find a heavy armor vest from the Marines hung up on the railing inside. She's got a full rack of bombs, miniguns, and the doorgun mechanism can be seen folded just inside the door. She steps up inside and pulls her helmet on. "Put the armor on after the flightsuit. If you need help with the helmet, let the ECO know." She plugs up the communications and air gear deftly and immediately gets on the radio. "PriFly, Raptor Eight One Eight. Checking in Callsign Rhino Five. Request pull and taxi, elevator five, departure straight out on Tasking One One Three Niner Four Romeo."

Toby is devesting his fetching orange as soon as he's up and into the raptor, glancing to the armour as Kelsey mentions it. The ECO gets a brief nod in acknowledgement but he figures introductions and nicities aren't for times like this and he focuses on pulling on the unfamiliar flightsuit instead. One look at teh helmet and he just hands it across rather than waste time fiddling and then he's heading for his designated chair, plugging in to listen to comms after strapping in. Once he's sure he's got everything covered he gives the ECO a brief thumbs up to say he's good, if bricking it slightly.

Squire gets cleared up and out on a Case One and its a pretty straightforward activity. Its something she's done enough times to do it without thinking much on it. Once out into space, she glances over her shoulder to Toby and smiles. "Ever done something like this before? I know I said 'practice' but that wasn't exactly true." Riiight. She tightens the straps on her ejection seat. "We're dropping in to evac behind friendly lines, but I'm going to bring us in over the forward edge of the battle area. The Marines should be engaged with the Centurions down there. We'll be dropping a bombload and shooting them up a bit before we head in for the pick-up. Sound up to flying combat, Crewman?" she asks with some tired mirth.

"You waited until we'd launched before you asked that deliberately didn't you?" Toby replies, then shakes his head at her previous question. "Not really, no. Couple of runs down one of the ranges on Pireas before they let me loose on deck but thats about it." Then, slightly lighter, "I point it at the toasters right?" Then he notes that she's looking at him, not out from, or the instruments and he asks, faintly anxiously, "shouldn't you, you know, be facing the other way?"

The ECO gets up and pulls the .50cal round links from the huge canvas sack on the rear bulkhead. He loads the thing while Kelsey speaks. "Yeah, I did. I figured that if I told you we'd be going and shooting at live targets you might find an excuse. I thought you could use some time to vent off frustration. Killing canners is fairly cathartic." The point forward gets a shrug. There is a Picon looming out ahead and getting very very large. "Bah. Just a planet. Crashed into one before." Though she finally does look back forwards. "Departure, Rhino Five beginning deo-prep. Descending to angels one zero zero." There's an acknowledgement before she turns the nose. …Doesn't Kelsey destroy a lot of Raptors?

Toby distracts himself from Kelsey's antics by watching the ECO work, he'd offer to help but the guy seems to have it covered. "An excuse like doing my own job?" he replies, keeping his tine forcibly light as he contintues to concentrate hard on the loading process, "yeah, I guess I would have." He does manage to smile a little at the mention of killing toasters though, if he's going to be strapped into a who-knows-how-many-tons of metal deathtrap, then the opportinuty to dust a few cylons is as good an upside as he can think of.

Kelsey settles back into her seat, the Raptor shaking as the whole craft descends through a small burn into atmo. Its nothing long and the anti-grav works wonders for smoothing it out. Tilting the nose forward, she aims the Raptor down towards the surface. A gloved hand adjusts the altitude knob for Picon's gravity and air density. She keeps her eyes up on the scan, watching the instruments for now. "This is part of your job, Tobes. Its just one we don't normally get to do. Air crews like to take all the glory. Same with PJs. But its in the contract. …I think once you get a feel for this, you're going to like it." They're getting pretty close to the lines. "ECO, arming weapons and going hot." She flips a rocker switch with a red cap and locks it in place. "Rhino Five, flight of one Raptor. Going on station six-zero miles west of Owenston City at one-zero thousand feet. Ordnance is six mark eight-twos, twenty-mil, and one doorgun. Playtime is three zero minutes until abort medevac. Abort code is Chester. Anyone looking for assistance?"

Toby does not appear to appreciate the atmo burn and that much is obvious from his expression, it's always the part of a flightthat he hates most. Just like take-off, landing and anything else that makes it harder for him to pretend the bird isn't just sat on the deck nice and still. He keeps his mouth shut as during the com-chatter though, using the time productively in silent prayer instead. Can't hurt right? At the mention of arming weapons he glances towards the ECO, waiting for an indication that he should crack open the door and get things in position.

The radio comes to life calling for air support and Kelsey chuckles. "Looks like its a busy day, Toby. Just remember, if you have to puke, do NOT take off your helmet. Just deal with it. Having said that, don't puke in your helmet." She nudges up the throttles, rolling the Raptor around and Toby can feel them accelerating towards the ground. A vapor cone passes over the Raptor, then another as they pass through Mach Two in their sloped descent. "Two minutes," the ECO says blithely. Kels throws a thumbs up and drops down lower, heading towards an area of low ridges, lining herself up on a hilltop. They're only a few miles out when she pops the speedbrakes and the whole Raptor surges forward as it slows. "Here we go!" she calls out to the passengers. "Toby, get that door open, would ya darling?" Squire seems completely at home here in combat. Maybe there's some comfort in that? "Okay, Tobes, we're going to make a low pass over the target and drop bombs. I'm going to come around and then you're free to shoot. The toasters tend to be pretty easy to spot in the sunlight. Just aim for shiny shit." Tracers are already arcing up towards them.

Toby closes his eyes for a moemtn and concentrates on keeping his breathing steady through the string of manouvers. He doesn't chunder, but nor does he look particularly comfortable either. As raptor surges in it's deceleration he mutters a couple of words in tauran under his breath and is then unstrapping from the seat and attaching his safetyline to the inside of the hull. A quick tug to convince himself it's firm and then he's working the door. "With you," he calls back as the air starts to rush in, "low pass, turn, shoot the shiney ones." Securing the door open takes a moment or two longer than he'd planned, but he gets there eventually before he's moving back to the gun and very pointedly only looking at the origin points of those tracers, not how close they're getting to the bird.

There's an explosion on the side of the hill where a grenade goes off but it doesn't look to abate the firefight down there at all. Squire drives the Raptor lower, though. At only a few hundred feet off the treetops, they're moving pretty damned fast. "Standby for delivery!" she calls over the wind. 3. 2. 1. "Bombs gone!" she throttles up and dives the Raptor down over the other side of the hill as rounds prang off the Raptor. No wonder these things come back looking like hell. …Behind them the bombs explode across the hilltop, pieces of metal going flying everywhere. The brown and black clouds roil in the jet exhaust, chunks of rock and dirt coming down all over the troops. Toby can see them down there — dozens of Marines, most of them looking like kids, all of them shooting and maneuvering on the hill. One of them is looking right up at Toby as Kelsey begins her turn back on the hillside. "Toby! Let 'em have it! No mercy!" Yeah, Kels gets a little insane in the cockpit. She orbits the hilltop, the Raptor moving fairly fast to avoid the fire. It might be a little weird to look down and out of something at this angle and not be tumbling out, but Toby is planted firmly to the deck of the Raptor.

Toby gives his safety line another quick tug, can't hurt to make doubly sure after all and as the bird lurches lightly with the release of the ordinance he braces for the turn he has thankfully been forwarded about. "Good hit," he calls, as he spots the flying shards of metal, cos surely Kelsey is too busy concentrating on flying to looka t that sort of thing right. Right? He stares down for a few moments, legs braced against the buffeting winds and then his call comes and he flips the safety off, aiming a rapid stream of hot lead into the dust where before there were centurians.

Kelsey looks out the side of the cockpit as rounds prang off the side armor. Its loud and sounds like popcorn in a tin, or maybe hammers bounding off the side. She just grins, though. "Hell yeah, Toby!! Pour it on!!" She just continues the circle, grinning.

The gun kicks back like a bitch in Toby's hands and it takes a fair amount of his natural strength to keep it pointed where he wants it to be. This has the added bonus of distracting him slightly from the rounds that are pinging by and into various bits of the raptor, not entirely, but enough that he has no issue with continuing to return fire rather than ducking for cover. As the dust kicks up again and obscures his view he releases the trigger for a moment until there's a brief gap and one centurion is steps stright into it.

With the dust settling and one of the Centurions become more visible, the fire from the .50 focuses on it. Kelsey drops them down in altitude, wincing away as a pair of rounds bounce off the armored glass. She doesn't get to see Toby's target just get shredded to pieces. The left arm disappears at the elbow and then the whole chestpiece flies away, exposing the core to heavier damage. It suddenly stops firing and falls forward into the grass unmoving.

There's a faintly warm and fuzzy feeling in Toby's chest as he sees the toaster he was shooting at both crumple and sort-of-explode at the same time. Or of course, it might just be the effects of Kelsey's flying. "Smoke one," he calls over the radio as he searches for another targets, then adds, slightly more hesitantly, "thats the call right?" It takes a moment or two but he spots another Centurion coming out of the dust, the rifle directions of the marines being a useful guide and then he's bring his gun to point at the same metal monster.

Looking back out the side, Squire tilts the Raptor a little more to get a better view of the battlefield. Rounds prang off Toby's new target, the Centurion taking obvious damage. Down below, the Marines are cheering and beginning to rise up on their feet and move forward. "That's the call, Crewman! Keep it up! Looks like you're making friends on the ground," she muses with a laugh.

Toby ceases fire briefly as Kelsey's turn to keep them within range means his strays might hit the marines, then as soon as the angle is good again, he squeezes the trigger down again. "That mean I have to invite them all for drinks on my birthday?" he calls back, gun still hammering away in his hands, "or are they inviting me? I don't know how they do this sort of thing on Picon." He does atleast, seem to not be miding the whole flying thing so mugh right now, seems the centurions are enough of a distraction.

Kelsey is laughing, glancing back to see Toby taking such a liking to it. Its one of those things you have to see to appreciate and you really have to grin once you do see it. Its a bright spot in an otherwise dreary time. She's about to explain the rest when one of the Centurions gets lucky. The rounds impact the canopy glass, one right after another in the same place. A couple of them punch clean holes right through. The first round tumbles into Kelsey's leg and punches a wound right through it. "I'M HIT!" she barks. The next few rounds come in and one of them prangs off the bulkhead and hits Toby in the right hand. "I'm bleedin! We're going ot have to run Chester and get to that medevac! I need help!" Does she sound worried? Yeah, just a little. "Shoot while you've got the time!" She makes a radio call about vacating the area and begins one last low pass over the final Centurion on their way to the destination.

Continues to fire away at the centurion, plugging away at it while the line of fire is good. He's just lining up for another burst when his hand explodes in pain and he pulls back sharpish from the machine gun as if it had bitten him. There's a string of really quite colourful and inventive curses in tauran before what Kelsey said registers and he turns towards the cockpit. From what he can see through the canopy they aren't spiralling down into the hillside so he takes that as a positive and after a couple more curses for good measure, tucks his right hand under his left armpit and grips the gun again. It's personal now after all so he just does all he can to empty the beltfeed into the centurion responsible.

Aircraft Apron - Crandall
The heavily creased and cragged tarmac has seen better days but there is plenty of room for any number of aircraft that need to find ready station and waiting room on the base. The apron spreads out, further away from the runway to the West, but in the immediate vicinity are a few buildings. To the North across a large taxing area are the hangars, spread out in a line that leads away from the central buildings and towards the runway. To the East are the buildings in question, the closest being Operations which is a stark, well built brick building with the heavily reinforced munitions bunker attached. The two buildings are ensconced by an extra chain link fence collapsing at one side and likely no longer worth its weight. Further away and taking up most of the room at Crandall is the AMARG - Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group. The massive dirt storage area for space ready birds has its own apron and large facility. Extra pieces and portions of older birds litter a portion of the side of a building. A long abandoned older Raptor model sits unused and rusting.
AWD #267

The base isn't open yet except for medevac pickups and possible emergencies. There's just too much local fire going into the air to make it nearly safe. Unless, of course, you don't care and just need to get on the ground as soon as possible. Someone would probably let Jena know that there is a shot-up pilot coming in on final who is critical but still flying. Looking out to see the Raptor, the door is already open with a doorgunner in it, but she skids are coming down. There's no fire, no smoke, the Raptor seems to be just fine except for some herky-jerky control movements that make it yaw awkwardly. But the ship eventually lands, the rocks on the apron pavement crunching and groaning as the skids do their job nd the Raptors slides a few feet across the pavement. The chin bubble has a lot of blood on the bottom on the pilot's side, and there's more tossed up on the right side canopy glass. The holes are neat punches through the left side glass. Squire is moving, though. Just.. very lethargically. She's not doin so hot.

Having been on the way to the mess tent with Callen, Jena does hear about it. More likely, she sees the Raptor arriving even as she's being told. Her pack is on her back, always with her, prepared. Watching the jerky movements, she glances to Callen. "You want to go on without me? I'm going to work." Remaining far enough back to be out of the way of the awkwardly landing Raptor, she watches.. then she's running towards it even as it skids on the pavement.

Toby doesn't flick the gun's safety on until they're inside Crandall's perimeter and about to touch down. He's still craddling his right hand under his left arm, and so has been manouvering the weapon one handed for the inbound part of the flight, but such is life sometimes. Once the bird has stopped moving he reaches up to unclip his safety line and jump down onto the tarmac, getting the frak out of the way of the incoming PJ so they can get to Kelsey without interuption.

Callen just happy to be heading to the mess tent, well, as happy as one can be, when hears the incoming Raptor. "Nah, it can wait. I'll tag along, maybe somebody needs to get carried or something. Not going to just sit around while you do all the heavy lifting and got no assist for it." And by the way it's coming down, doesn't look exactly great. So he beats feet with the PeeJay.

The ECO is helping Kelsey up and out of the seat. She's not dead weight, thankfully, but the wound on her left leg is pretty bed. Tied off with a simple bandage, she's set down on the winglet of the Raptor. The guy gets her helmet off but she looks pretty woozy and pale once she's free of it. That's a lot of blood. She does manage to give Toby a thumbs up. "See? No sweat." When there's an obvious PJ in sight, she points at the deckhand. "I think he's shot." Says the woman slurring her words.

Watching as..was that Shackleton? …jumps out, Jena speaks to him without pausing. "What happened?" Though then her eyes fall on the pilot and she's immediately into medic mode. Both are hurt. The pilot is more life threateningly hurt. Skidding to a halt, she drops down beside the young woman. "Looks like you've lost a lot of blood, Sir. No worries, we'll get you patched right up." Her pack is removed and she reaches inside and draws out a tourniquet. "I have to put this on for a minute. I won't leave it on long, but we've got to stop the immediate blood loss." Deftly she does so, then goes to cut off the leg of the uniform away from the wound.

Toby had been hoping to manage to avoid putting his boots on the ground on Picon at all, especially in areas swarming with marines, but he spots the Orion patches on those incoming which makes things a little easier. With the ECO helping Kelsey he fiddles one-handedly with the unfamiliar helmet for a few moments but does eventually succede in getting it off. Resting against the raptor's fusilage he's breathing a little heavily but returns the pilot's thumbs up with a nod, and a tired sounding, "I guess that counts as one you walked away from, but don't push it. You hear me?" As Jena speaks he turns his attention to her, recognition dawning for a moment before he answers quickly, "centurion got lucky, decided to ruin the Ensign's party."

Ygraine has been…wherever she's been in Crandall, really. She looks weary, dark circles under her eyes and her braids slightly frizzed out, but damned if the ECO isn't smiling, calling out over her shoulder, "It was a bit of rough go, wasn't it, Hammer - " and as she turns her head, her eyes go saucer wide. "Shit, Kelz!" She jogs over to where the pilot is being treated. "What happened?" She doesn't crowd Toby while he's treating Squire.

Callen is coming right up next to Jena, he stays out of the way, but he's involved so much as helping assist in carrying the Ensign out and pretty listening to anything that Jena wants him to do. Having a bit of first aid training, but not the specialized extent that the Petty Officer, he kinda falls into a nuse-type role for the PeeJay, getting out equipment and handing stuff over when she sticks her hand out.

Cutting away the suit, Kelsey does her best not to look at it. Its obvious she's hurting, a lot, but doing her best to smile. "I'll be okay," she tells Jena. Right, because Kelsey is an expert at medical care. Eyes drift to Toby, then. "How many did you get?" Cutting away the pants, Kelsey has taken a very serious hit to the leg. There's no exit wound, but the entrance is still bleeding quite a bit. Looking at Yggy, her eyes blinks slowly. "Fine. Stupid.. Centurion shot me. I'll be okay. I- hey, my medevac pick-up. They're still waiting. Someone needs to get them." There's real concern there in the fog.

Kostas is doubletiming it with one of the triage people from the hanger over, having heard the call out over the radio. Once they get near the perimetere though the ensign falls back a bit, to stay out of the way, and perhaps for another reason as well once she spots one of the occupants in particular. Instead the marine keeps her eyes peeled, ready to assist with what she can while the initial responders do their more important work.

Amid the banter the Crewman gives to the Ensign, Jena focuses solely on her patient at the moment, the words registering, sure, but she doesn't contribute immediately, vocally. Instead, she nods to acknowledge, noticing the role Callen has fallen into about then. "Thanks, Corporal." Frak. It was bad. "Everyone move back. We're doing surgery. Now." Looking at Callen, she relays the seriousness of the situation. Immediately, she pours sterile water over the wound and goes into surgery mode, trying to clean up the wound so she can extract the shrapnel inside.

"Hey, Hammer!" Ygraine calls out over her shoulder to her pilot. "Do us a solid and take this medevac mission, will ya? Find yourself another ECO, one's gotta be 'round somewhere. I'll get me 'nother pilot so we can medevac this nutjob who thiks she's made of steel." Peering at those providing assistance, she then focuses her gaze on Kelsey. "Figures. I ain't in your backseat, so of course ya get shot up and bleed like a stuck pig. If ya pass out without flirtin' with the super hot enlisted, I'm gonna be very disappointed in ya." She does back up though, as Jena instructs, telling the PJ, "I'm shoutin' out t'set up a medevac while ya work."

Brina has just been released from medical and only been here for perhaps thirty minutes before the call comes out, that putting her on the run immediately from where she had been getting caught up with what has been going on while she was laid out. By the time she gets to where they're needed she comes skidding to a stop, feet kicking up a little cloud of dust that she had ran through. "What's the sitrep?"

Toby can't help but wince as the extent of Kelsey's wound is revealed. He's not an expert either, but he really doesn't like the look of that. At the question he looks back up at her face, yeah, thats better, then shakes his head to clear it a moment before answering, "all three, I think. Certainly that last frakker." As Jena declares it surgury time his eyes dart round the area and he asks, "this really the best place for that?" There's surely some sort of medical point here isn't there? He's distracted from that though by Brina's arrival and he turns to give her a quick rundown to keep the area around Kelsey clear. "Had an arguement with a group of Centurions," he states tiredly, still resting most of his weight against the fusilage, "one of them took offense to us ruining their party."

Before things get anymore messy, Callen is pulling his rifle's sling around his shoulders and setting it out of the way, along with his ammo and weapon belt, needing to have a bit more flexibility and dexterity for what's about to go down. "Got it." he nods once, and while she continues to stabilize, he's preping for a makeshift surgery, going through the rest of her medkit for the particular supplies that they're going to need. "She's gonna need a transfusion. He glances up at Toby. "It's either that or the sharpnel in her keeps cutting up more inside from being moved around. Need to cut the bleeding off." Before she bleeds out, is always what he says, but he cuts himself out.

Kostas takes a moment to mutter something into her radio, to clear a space/prep for imminent medivac incoming on the part of those on the ground. It's quiet though, for some reason the brash Canceronian seeming to take painstaking care to fall into the background. She speaks up to the PJ though when she sees surgery about to go down right then and there. "We got a triage center in th' hanger next door. I got a team heading over here from there, if ya want a more sterile area." The triage nurse from said hangar reaches Jena just about then, looking to her for guidance.

Kelsey feels pretty tired and decides that sprawling on the winglet of the Raptor is a better idea. She sort of flops backwards, closing her eyes. "Good job, Tobes. Make sure those Marines thank you." But she doesn't wince when the alcohol is poured over the wound to clean it. She just swallows and looks up.

"Thanks, sir." Jena says to the ECO. This isn't something Jena is qualified to do and there's so much blood loss. "She needs to be in surgery about twenty minutes ago. All I can do is stop the blood with the tourniquet, but there's still a chance of her losing the leg if it's on too long. I don't have everything she needs here. She's got to be on a Raptor NOW." Course, she looks at the only Pilot type there. "Sir," she barks to Ygraine. "We're taking her to Orion. Get transport. NOW." Looking to Toby and Callen. "Don't touch the leg. Carry her to the Raptor the JayGee gets and I'm riding with her."

Ygraine looks over her shoulder at Brina. "Got a raptor pilot gettin' triage on the runway, El Cee." she says, before cupping her hands and hollering with all the grace and dignity of a Leonese farm girl with three older brothers: "I need a raptor pilot for emergency medevac and I need one NOW!"

Speaking of piloting, Callen is on auto-pilot right at the moment. He's just doing what his training is telling him to do. Which right is listen to the woman with this kind of thing being her job. And that's when he looks down at thepack, frowning. "Damnit." he mutters. But again, he listens, helping with the picking of the Ensign to carry her wherever he's directed to carry.

Kostas doesn't seem to be either surprised or offended by the PJ either not hearing or ignoring her words. Instead, she speaks into her radio again at hearing Jena give the update, and in the distance ample space for a patient transfer is being cleared on thr runway, the ground crew moving in place to direct as soon as possible.

Toby rests his head against the raptor and closes his eyes briefly, he doesn't particularly want to be witness to open air surgury, but he doesn't really know where else to go or what else to do. As the nurse moves in to help jena he moves himself a set up two further along the fusilage then sinks down until he's sat on the tarmac. This does mean he can easily set down the helmet he's still holding and his now free left arms moves to help pin his right across his chest. The call from Jena has him pushing himself back to his feet again though and he slips towards Kelsey's right side so he can get his shoudler under hers and his good arm around her back. As he starts to take there weigh though his face creases with pain and he curses through gritted teeth as his injured hand ends up right between his body and Kelsey's.

Brina nods slowly. "'Right, sir," she replies to Ygraine. She then turns to look at Kostas. "I will help with the securing of the LZ, sir." Never hurts to have as many hands involved in security as possible.

Timing is really everything, Brandy hears the scream out as she is getting out of her Raptor, flight bag in hand. The fire support vehical is not suited to med-vac missions, but there are those she can 'barrow'. "HEY, what?" Shr shouts as she moves from a range walk to a full run towards the ECO. "Here, and dressed out. Moving." She calls as the long legs pump in sprint in the flight suit.

"Can ya see 'bout gettin' a report as well after it's secured, Lance Corporal?" Kostas asks Brina, with a grateful nod. "Sure'd like ta know where they took fire. We need someone ta take a report from the Crewman, maybe even back on th' ship." Apparently, she doesn't think that's going to be her.

Belatedly, Jena spares a few precious seconds and nods to Kostas. "Thank you, but she needs immediate surgery on Orion." This is said even as she slings her backpack back on and moves to Toby's side to assist him. "You need attention too, you could either go to the triage center here or go back to Orion." His doesn't immediately strike her as life threatening, so she's focused more on Kelsey. As soon as the Raptor is noticed, she's nodding towards it for Toby and Callen. "We're taking that one." Ready or not, here we come! "Sir!" Yeah, Brandy. "We need a ride to Orion, radio them ahead of time and tell them we've got a pilot who needs surgery NOW."

"Amazon!" Ygraine greets when she spots Brandy running her way. "Need ya t'take us back up t'Orion, Squire got shot up." Another bellow to the flight officer or whatever deckie can point them to the nearest available raptor prepped for flight that can take a patient and team and once it's indicated, and Ygraine very definitively points at which raptor they're going to take, saying to the pilot, "Start pre-flight checks. Do it fast, Ensign, while we load up."

"Yep." Looking at the woman, then at Toby. "You ready? One…two…three.." then lifting the Ensign up in unison to then start carrying her the Raptor that's been indicated. He did say that he wouldn't mind getting back up to Orion, but I can't say I was imgaining it'd be quite like this." he notes somewhat off-handedly mentally. Still, onward he goes."

"Aye. Godspeed, Petty Officer," is Kostas' reply to Jena. She looks up at the raptor's approach with some relief betrayed at least. "Everything should be cleared on th' ground and ready for ya to go stat." She eyes the shot up bird grimly, but only for a few moments before she's back to monitoring the area and staying out of the way.

Brina nods to Kostas. "I'll make sure that gets done if I don't do that myself, sir." At that she finds a point just at the perimeter, keeping an eye out to make sure that nothing tries to sneak up on them before the pilot and deckhand get get airlifted out.

Toby is using all his concentration and effort to keep on carrying Kelsey towards the new raptor. Each step taken means the pilot is moving a little in relation to him and pressure either added or removed from his hand. It's never enough to actually slip it out though, so he just grits his teeth and copes, particularly big movements resulting in a growl or a curse depending. Still, the raptor is his focus and he's rapidly developing tunnelvision towards it, managing to entirely miss Kostas all together, and Brina's approach.

"Aye, Sir." Brandy comments and changes directions before even coming to stop to select a Raptor. She mounts up through the hatch to begin the pre-flights. A quick check-up to make sure it is flight ready. Then she settles in and hook up the feeds to her suit before strapping down. No looking around, no hesitation, like everything the ensign does, steady as a drill. A single focused burst transmission to Orion to clear a flight path and minimize Cylon chances to locate and intercept.

Kelsey doesn't seem to mind being manhandled. There's no struggle, just the bleeding leg. She keeps trying to get someone's attention about flying her medevac, though. Nobody seems terribly keen on listening so she just sighs and rests her head against Toby's shoulder as they move.

Battlestar Orion — Deck 3 — Sickbay
Serving as the ship's primary care facility, the Medical Center is a rather large, single room structure that has the same load-bearing structures to the walls that the halls do, as well as the same heavy hatch. There is a desk at the entrance staffed by a nurse as well as a small locker for single dose drugs like aspirin. Beds are lined up along each wall with EKG's and hangers for IVs in case of triage. Large cabinets at the rear provide ready access to lifesaving medicines and gear, as well as a ready supply of defibrillators. Not far from the primary entrance is the Chief Medical Officer's office and on the other side is a small hatch to the recovery ward. Towards the rear is a sectioned-off examination area. Opposite the hatch to recovery is a sealed doorway leading down a hallway to the ship's morgue.

Once everyone was loaded into the Raptor, Jena had remained at the side of Kelsey, holding pressure on the most damaged of the vessels so that she wouldn't bleed to death. Nothing manages to tear her attention away from the patient and if there's ever a time the Ensign is out of it, she gently tries to pull her back by speaking to her. "Stay with me Ensign. Tell me what happened?" It's a rhetorical question, well she doesn't really expect an answer really…

Ygraine follows the gurney into medbay at a respectable distance. She's still in her flirt suit, her helmet having been tucked under her arm as she tries to peer over the forms of those crowded around Squire. "Good job, Amazon." she tells the pilot. "Sweet flyin' through some rough patch, and just in time, too."

Brina hitched a ride up since there was room and then, after a quick swing by the SecHub to get the proper paperwork and such, she arrives at Medical. At first she finds herself grateful that it isn't her in here, this time, which then turns into guilt as soon as she realizes her relief. No time for that, however. Emotion gets shunted to the side, left to be felt later. There is work to be done. A nurse is approached and she whispers quietly to them, asking who is the least hurt so she can start with them. Kelsey's report is already put at the bottom of the list as far as order goes.

If Jena is on one side of the gurney, Callen is on the other, having at least a decent knowlege of first aid for a jarhead. He doesn't say anything, he just watching Kelsey's vitals, his fingers taking her pulse and watching the pallor of her skin. He may not even be aware that he's moving along with the cart, but likely he didn't notice the Raptor flight up here all that much either.

As soon as Kelsey is in the sickbay with the surgeons, Jena looks towards Toby. "Crewman, how about I take a look at your hand? Looks like there's going to be little Pyramid from you anytime soon." Just trying to distract him a little. Sure, that's something she can do. She casts another worried look towards where they took the Ensign, but she'd done all she could do there. Callen also gets a look. "Thanks for coming and helping, Corporal."

Toby appears to be in a flightsuit too, although his helmet is AWOL, still on the tarmac at Crandall most likely, or tidied away by someone there perhaps. With no need to help carry the pilot at the end he just finds himself swept along with the crowd towards the sickbay, still keeping his right hand sheltered under his left arm. He's not felt particularly communicative since the ot landing and so lets the various air crew see to their own. It takes a moment or two before Jena's words register and he turns his head slowly to look at her before giving a brief grunt of consent before slowly moving his arm so she can take a look.

Brandy untethers to the ship just in time slip out behind Ygraine, for the first time she looks at her priority rider. Her face tightens, "Thank you Milkshake, just glad I was ready." She says with a slightly grim tone as she follows, pilot being the last off. The blonde gives a few brief words of prayer to her god and goddess but mostly stays clear of the pros.

Callen puts the gunnery into the hands of those more experienced when they get to Sickbay. That's all he can do for Kelsey. Staying out of people's way, he stays where he is, leaning against the ship's bulkhead. Running hand through his hair and sighing. Jena's talkig to him, looking over at her. "Happy to help, Petty Officer." Another glance back at the sickbay doors. "Not much else we can do now, besides hoping for the best." Pause. "Still wanna go eat?"

Since Toby is still mobile, Jena leads him to one of the beds and begins what she actually /is/ trained to do. Emergency medical and extended first aid. Everything except surgery. First things first.. Sterile water to clean the wound. She doesn't flinch at the condition, but it's not attractive at all. When Callen mentions the Mess Hall, she flashes him a grin. "Actually, we'll need to get down to Picon again, we have orders from the Captain to be ready for work. We can eat tonight." Definitely, she's used to skipping a meal when needed. When another nurse comes over, she leaves the remainder of the care of Toby to her, but stays by Toby for a moment, though she looks towards the Pilot and ECO. "You both did an amazing job."

The nurse shakes his head and is quick to explain that right now really is not a good time. Kelsey's going to be in surgery for awhile and Toby needs tended to, making for too much hustle and bustle and activity around their beds and everything. In other words, Brina would just get in the way. "I understand," she murmurs to the RN while giving a soft smile. "I'll come back later. Please, take good care of them." Toby's given a quick wave to let him know that she's out of there for now.

Letting Jena, and then the nurse work, Toby just holds his hand out in silence, a purpetual pained expression on his face as they poke and clean and set. He's not looking at his hand now the glove is off, keeping his eyes either forwards, or glancing in the direction they took Kelsey. One particularly painful movement of bone has his crying out briefly before he can bite it back, jerking his hand back towards his chest as he does so. It's offered back once more though after a moment or two of cradling.

Ygraine throws a smile Jena's way. "Just doing our jobs, honest to gods. But I'm usually Squire's backseater when we're dealin' with high priority stuff. So I definitely wanted t'get her into care." She makes a vague gesture at Jena and Callen. "Me and Amazon can get ya and Corporal Hottie here back down t'base if ya want. Or ya can pick up on th'next outbound."

There's a glance at his watch on his wrist, followed by a frown. "Yeah, okay, I guess you're right. Wishful thinking, I guess I just thought maybe I could get some chow before I get shot at, y'know?" What he's not used to is Ygraine's comment, blinking then, coughing into his hand. "Yeah…er, it's Corporal Methos. I, uh…yeah, sure! A ride back would be great." Yeah, let's just not focus on the Corporal Hottie here. Or he's going to crawl into a shell or something.

Before answering, Jena looks back to Toby. "You going to be okay, Crewman?" Their lack-of-name game becoming a habit now. "I've got to get back for a mission fairly quickly, but you be careful out there." Nuff said. She smiles back to the ECO. "I can see why you'd be protective of her.. and yeah, I'd appreciate a lift back down, if you're sure you don't mind." The smile turns into a grin when she references Callen as Corporal Hottie.

"I'll be okay," Toby replies, gritting his teeth slightly as something grates inside his hand. A moment for a steadying breath and he adds, "until Chief Rutlii finds out anyway. Then I'm frakked." Look, see, he's trying to joke, but it falls a little flat as he ends up scrunching up his face again. It appears he has at least been listening though as he finishes with, "if you've got to be somewhere then go. Ain't likely I'll have gone far by the time you get back." Here, or if he's lucky, his bunk he reckons, thats the options.

"Stayin', then?" Ygraine asks Toby, nodding, "Does look like ya should." with regards to his hand. To Jena and Callen she adds, "Good job too, by th'way. Thanks for ridin' with her, keepin' her stable. I'm Milkshake, by th'by." Callen's introduction has her look at him a moment, expression amused as she then starts sauntering toward the hatch. "Alright, PeeJay, Corporal Hottie, let's get a move on." She snaps her fingers, before grinning sidelong at Jena. "He's blushin', ain't he. I love it when they blush. Don't ya?" Yes, her friend is in surgery right now. Yes, she's concerned. But Ygraine? Can compartmentalize like a pro. And as she starts off, she remarks casually, "Ya know, it don't count as frat if both parties ain't wearin' pins." Through the hatch she goes.

Ah hell, he just got nickname or a callname he hadn't really been looking or intending for. Might as well get used to being called that. "Yes, Sir." he replies, falling instep behind the Lt. Great more talking about him. Now he's dipping his head, trying to duck it out of sight. Yeah good look there. But he does look at Jena, then looks back at the floor. "Got interesting people on this ship." he absently point out.

Jena hesitates a little longer. "Yeah, not likely I'll be back on Orion too often. I'll be spending the bulk of my time on Picon. I saw something though down there I think you'd like… a whole boneyard of Raptors. You'd have a blast putting them all back together again." Another concerned look to his hand before she offers him a nod. "Just, be careful whatever you do, and keep the Pyramid court warm for me." A soft snicker at that part and she nods to him. "Take care, Crewman." Then she's looking back at Ygraine with bemusement. "PO Second Class, Jena Cruz." Milkshake? She'd heard a lot of callsigns over time, but she kinda liked that one. "I do believe he is.. I don't know that I've ever made anyone blush before though. You'll have to teach me sometime." She follows off behind the ECO, casting one more look at Toby before her departure, soft laughter following, cause what Callen said.
