Petra
Combat Information Center - Deck 2
The Combat Information Center is the tactical heart of the Orion. This CIC is designed in a circular formation, the Admiral apparently a fan of the classical set-up. Dead center are a set of large monitors suspended from the ceiling with DRADIS readings as well as other vital shipboard information. Under this is a small map table outlining current plots and positions. The table has a built-in phone as well as smaller displays as to critical damage reports. Both port and starboard other watch stations are set at all times, in two rows of tiers like stadium seating, one above the other. Each station has a purpose — Helm, Weapons, Communications, Electronic Warfare, Damage Control, and further tactical monitoring. More displays and banks of computer monitors line the walls. This area is heavily guarded by Marines at all hours of the day and night.
AWD #79

The Tactical Officer has been looming over the pedestal in CIC for the last hour, scribbling notes and erasing them, then rescribbling them. Finally, he picks up the handset and nods at Comms to key the whole ship, "Officers, enlisted, and civilians of Task Force Nomad, this is the Tactical Officer. As I'm sure most of you have heard by now, we've had some wild things happen on the Orion in the last two days. We currently have a 'skinjob' model Cylon loose on the Orion who was responsible for the murders of Special Agent Boyd and Corporal Nelson, and more recently the attack in the Mess Hall that left ten of our crewmen dead. Pictures of this man have been handed out to every MP and department head. If you see this man, alert SecHub, do not try to take him down yourself. Follow boarding party protocol and form a team. Do not try to physically restrain this man.

"This incident has brought to light another issue, one that I need to make sure everyone in the task force knows about and understands. As you all know, the Cylons have evolved. Some of them now live and breathe and bleed and feel just like the rest of us. As we are finding out, they have lived among us, been married, and in some cases, died, all without us knowing. In most cases, these sleeper agents were there to provide eyes and ears for the enemy. They are likely the reason why the Cylon attack of January 5th was so complete and devastating. However. Long before the war began. Back when we encountered the Reese, a single Cylon and his cell partner knew what was going to happen, and they turned their back on their entire people to warn us. Warned me specifically, that annihilation was coming. I put the Orion on alert. Admiral Jameson and I warned Fleet Command. They warned President Adar - the Cylons were coming.

"Precautions were taken, and still the Cylons came, and we all saw what they did. These two that warned us, they fought with us. Within sight of basestars they could have fled to and turned us all in, they stayed here and fought, and they themselves have killed more Cylons than most of their fellow soldiers. They have given our Intelligence Officers information that has directly saved Colonial lives. Our Air Wing has detailed information on the improved Cylon Forge Anti Aircraft system because of these two individuals - we know its weaknesses and we know how to exploit them. Every single pilot in the Air Wing owes their lives to these two.

"Their names are Ceres Garrido and Cooper Knox. If you are an Air Wing Pilot or a Marine and you feel that knowing this is going to impair your ability to serve with these soldiers, inform your commanding officer, and I'll be happy to let them save someone else's life instead of yours. What Command will not stand for is someone choosing to take matters into their own hands. We have an enemy that is currently killing thousands of Marines and Air Crew on Aerilon and Picon right now while we have this discussion. We've had to suspend air operations and not provide critical support to soldiers that are on the ground, dying, right now. They swore the same oath you did, and they are upholding it. As I expect every single officer and enlisted in this task force to. That is all."

And with that said, Petra hangs the handset up and looks over at Wake, shaking his head, "We're either about to have a mutiny, or a moment of clarity, Lieutenant. I hope you have your sidearm on you."
