I'm writing this to keep a record of my experiences on Minos(not to mention I'll need to keep busy somehow the next three days). Captain Saint Clair and Lieutenant Salazar just departed with the body from the control room and the records we thought might be relevant. I've got the emergency supplies from their Raptor; there's just one of me instead of a two man Raptor crew, so they should last long enough if I'm careful.

Bennett wanted to stay as well. A damn fool idea if I ever heard one. Not that my own stroke of inspiration was particularly brilliant, but somebody's gotta be here in this irradiated dump when they call back, and staying's the only way I can think of we don't miss them. It doesn't take two people to answer a godsdamn radio, and besides, it'd mean having to split the anti-rads. Still, the woman's got serious stones, I have to say.

I'll set myself up in one of the living quarters. At least these people straightened up all nice before they left. Be just like staying in a cheap hotel back home… a dark, morbid, depressing cheap hotel all the same, but I can think of worse places to be. The distress beacon's been deactivated, and as far as anyone else knows, it's a dead moon. So I should be safe for the next three days, until the Raptor comes back.

Well, unless the life support finally gives out. Then I'm frakked.

I hooked the radio system into the settlement's intercom. That way I won't need to spend all my time in the control room; if someone hails me I'll hear it from anywhere in the installation. A good thing, too. Don't much care for spending the whole time in that room. That guy's dried brains are still decorating the back wall.

Maybe I ought to do something about that.

Found some rags and a bottle of industrial cleaner in the motor pool. Did the trick, all right. Wall's still a bit discolored, but most of the crusted blood and brain fragments are gone. Messy work, that, but at least now it won't be quite so obvious a guy ventilated his brainpan in here. It did something about the smell, too. Of course about all I can smell in here now is industrial-grade ammonia, so. Tradeoffs.

Considering there's been no regular maintenance since February, the life support systems don't seem to be in terrible shape. Of course, that could change at any time. I've checked and rechecked the reserve air on my flight suit, and it's full up, but it's only a limited supply. There might be an O2 tank or two laying around that the inhabitants forgot to grab when they left, but I'm not counting on it. Still, I'll keep an eye out.

You know, I always forget just how shitty emergency field rations taste. Packaging says they're 'meal bars', but if someone told me it was really just sawdust mixed with wet gravel and baked until turning rock hard… I think I'd believe him. Back when I flew for the airline, they'd at least give us instaheats for long intrasystem flights. Now, those weren't half bad. Not quite a homecooked meal, but damn near the next best thing. But I might've known the Fleet would go with the lowest bidder instead.

Oh well. Bitching about it won't help. Maybe when I make the rounds tonight I'll find some real food somewhere.

Well, no luck. These people obviously made a pretty clean sweep when they left. Our friend in the control room wasn't left with much, and according to his records, he must have been on starvation rations for at least several weeks before the Cylons came.

The Cylons. I've been thinking about the skinner Bennett and I saw in the video. Definitely not a One. My first thought was a Six, but I don't think so. Only saw a brief outline of his face and body, but he wasn't cut like a Six. Definitely slimmer. And the jawline was all wrong. And unless the Cylons are into crossdressing, it sure isn't a Four, Nine, or Eleven.

So, looks like we've got a new model, then. Something we haven't seen yet, which makes me wonder where they've been all this time… but then again, with what we know about what the toasters have been doing so far, is that an answer I really want to have?

Tomorrow I'll start looking through the records Bennett and I didn't manage to get through. Maybe there'll be something interesting. If not, well, at least it'll be a time killer.
