Perry Amos
Battalion HQ - Deck 3 - Battlestar Orion
The headquarters room is the primary command location for all Marines associated with the battlestar or accompanying fleet ships. The walls and desks are covered with maps, photos, and satellite imagery - as well as clocks indicating the current time in each colonial capital city. Secure phones are bolted to each bulkhead, and for added insurance, each desk possesses its own encrypted wireless unit with its own independent wiring. The small room is always manned by a wireless operator and a duty sergeant, at a minimum, though it tends to be a hive of activity during duty hours.

Scuttle would probably have already passed that their team mascot, Cooper Knox, hasn't been seen in a few days. He was last seen boarding a Raptor for Picon. WTF Picon, he didn't have orders to Picon. But someone else seems to have rotated in. A young-looking woman in her early to mid twenties. That's who is standing at the hatchway to the Battalion HQ. She's wearing the similar mess of mottled green/brown camo that Knox had. Her gear looks dusty and disgusting. There's a radio mit for one ear hanging from her gear with a bunch of wires, much like Knox. She's even wearing the same radio kit, but there's a heavy ruck in her left hand. The suppressed rifle dangling from the front and right of her gear looks like it's been run over a few times. She's quite pretty, but that's debatable at the moment since she looks like she hasn't seen a proper shower in at least a couple months.

Having spent a few hours drilling privates in the MOUT room, Amos is now on his way back to HQ. Decked out in his greens he could be almost anyone, unless you note the gold at his collar. Spotting the presumed JTAC at the hatch as he approaches he offers a quick "can I help you.." he scans for her pips, "staff sergeant?"

As soon as she opens her mouth, it's clear she's from Virgon. It might even take him a second to realize she's speaking with an accent and turn an ear for it. "I hope so, sir. I think I just got transferred to this ship. I'm not sure how, but I just spoke to this Colonel up on Deck Two and he said I had been." If Amos knows his accents, she's definitely from Boskirk and probably highly educated. "I was hoping to get some direction, Captain."

Amos raises an eyebrow faintly at the apparent confusion then gestures her over to his desk so he can drop off his notes from the exercise and try to get to the bottom of this. "No paperwork then I take it?" he asks, "unusual, but not the oddest thing I've ever encountered." On autopilot he moves to roll his sleeves up, considering as he does so. "Well, I'd usually direct you straight to the S1, but he doesn't seem to be about," nor, alas, does the XO, "so I'll start with the basics. "Unless anyone comes and says you're in the wrong place then welcome to the 3/8th. Major Rand is CO, Captain Fairfax XO. I'm Captain Ommanney, S3. Ever served on a battlestar before?"

Perry chuckles and shakes her head as she follows Amos to the desk. Arriving, her bag hits the deck with a dull thud. "No paperwork. Just me and what I know. I'd only been promoted to Sergeant three weeks before Warday. Some quack from Spree's Command gave me these pins about six months later." Way, way fast. She's either good or just really lucky. Likely a combination of luck and skill. The last has her shake her head, the thick ponytail wagging. "No, sir. I've completed my Fast-FAC training so I've sat in Predators and Raptors, but never been to a B-Star."

"Thats convenient," Amos replies with a frown that indicates that it really isn't, "my J-TAC just left for Picon, so I guess you get his workload until I find out what is going on with that. I'll let you get settled in before I bore you with all the details, but we're in the process of setting up joint training with the airwing down on P. Your predecessor was handling it from this end, so once you've found a bunk, the mess, and the head, that's what you need ot be thinking on. I have another exercise to run at 16:00, but other than that I should be around for the rest of the day if you need taking through the ground maps and such." Moving a few steps back towards the hatch he calls out "Darling!" and waits for the HQ sergeat to appear. "Ah, Darling, good. Give the Sergeant here a whistle-stop tour of the main decks would you? And see she finds a bunk."

"My file was pretty boring anyway. After Warday I found a hole, crawled in, and cried for 9 months until someone found me." Cheeky sarcasm from the Staff. The woman looks like she probably would have curb-stomped someone who did that. "Aerilon, actually. Not Picon." But she doesn't elaborate. Perry knows what she said, she just leaves it there. When Darling enters, she reaches for her bag and hefts it. "Copy all. I'll see what I can dig up about his plans. Thank you, sir."

Amos raises an eyebrow faintly at the initialy correction, but doens't want to go into the details since he's alreay summoned Darling. "We can go over the details later," he says simply, then nods to them both, "dismissed." Then, joy of joy, he gets to write up the paperwork from the morning's training.
