Chapel
The chapel is one of the few quiet places to be found on a battlestar. Even rarer still, it's one of the few places that doesn't look like it's part of a battlestar. Heavy blue curtains have been hung from the walls, obscuring the bulkheads. The lights are kept low, adding a certain mystery and gravitas to the space. The central altar is made of a pale grey wood, as are the several rows of pews which extend from it. Laid against the far right wall is a long, low table with several rows of simple white votive candles to be used as vigil lights. Centered among them is a brass plate for burnt offerings from supplicants. Several cushions rest on the floor before the table, where the faithful may kneel to offer their prayers to the Lords and Ladies of Kobol. On the left wall are several compartments which have been sectioned off for private use.

The chapel is not in the shambles it is purported to have been after Captain Cole's bout of…whatever that was. But Sister Arden's hands bear evidence of it, the backs of them, up to mid-forearm, are covered in bandages. She still seems quite capable of going out her day though, and does so, having just said goodbye to a small prayer circle who are making their way out.

As the circle makes their way out, Luc makes his way in. In his hands he has a folded fabric of some kind. The expression on his face being flat, almost cold. "Chaplain." Eyes going to her hands but not asking. Looking back up to her face. "You look to be well, considering. He offers to her and takes a deep breath. Jaws staying clenched and hands grasps tighter on the blanket."

"Considering what, Lieutenant?" Gen asks in faint puzzlement, and then ah's. "Would this be your offering to Hera?"

Luc looks down to the fabric as he let out that breath. "Yes. It's…" Shaking his head a bit before looking up to Gen. "I bought it for our child. Same day I found out that we lost it. Soon before I was told. I kept it to remember but also hope for the future." Eyes moving shut for a moment before frowning and looking a bit angry as he opens his eyes. Not saying more on that though.

Iphigenia ah's softly. "I think Hera will find it acceptable." She gestures Luc toward the altar of the queen of the gods. "Have you prayed to Hera directly before?"

Luc shakes his head, "Nope. Not been big on it. But when I have it has been to Hermes." He offers, remembering more or less being forced to by the major. Following Iphi to the altar and he swallows. "So…"

"So would it be helpful if I led the prayer, or would you like to talk a little bit about what it is you should say to Hera?" Gen inquires, beckoning for him to put the little blanket on the brazier. This won't be easy, but it's not supposed to be. Or else it wouldn't be a sacrifice.

"You can lead. I… Don't know what to really say." Luc offers and clings to the fabric for just a moment longer. "It's my last connection to either." Most likely meaning his wife as well as his child. Then finally letting it go into the brazier. Watching it burn with his jaws clenched and sadness showing on his features. Looking a bit defeated.

"Temple doesn't mean much to you, does it?" Gen asks frankly. "Nor do you have much use for the Lords, really."

Luc shrugs about the temples. "I've spent most my life alone. With some help by a friend. But that is all. Never really had access to the temples other than with him." He explains to her and watches her for a moment.

Iphigenia cocks her head. "I don't see crippled legs." she says. "Nor any kind of mental impediment that would have kept you from temple if you truly wanted to go. My point is, Lieutenant, that this only has the meaning you ascribe it. I suggest you pray to Hera for forgiveness and ask for her blessing in the finalization of your divorce. And try to mean it."

"I did go when I was with my friend. Occasionally after but not often." He just shrugs it off. Luc continues on and nods. "It's hard to find reason to go when you manage all yourself." He shrugs a bit again but nods as he will move to pray for forgiveness.

Iphigenia will wait patiently as he prays. But her own gaze strays to Aphrodite, distracted from his efforts for a few moments.

Luc does try his best at the prayer. Seemingly focused and doing his best. Even very low murmuring to himself. Then he is taking a deep breath and a step back as he looks over to Iphigenia.

Iphigenia inclines her head. "I'll see you soon to finalize your divorce. Please remember, then is not the time to cast about lingering doubts. You should be prepared to commit to the action."

Luc nods again and his shoulders square up a bit. "Of course. She has already done her part and said what she wanted. Her choice is made and thereby I won't even bother." He assures her and smiles then. "Thanks anyhow. For all."

"Of course." Gen says kindly. "I understand how difficult it must be for you. Letting go is very, very difficult."

Luc nods and sighs, "It is. Especially when… WE kissed only a few weeks ago." He offers, assuming that Maia already had told Iphi that. Watching the fire and a hand goes over his face for a moment as he collects his thoughts.

"There's always something lingering, I think. But you need to know the difference when something is an echo, and when something is real. I think perhaps, for you…that was an echo." Gen suggests gently.

Luc shrugs, "Perhaps. I just. It was only maybe three weeks weeks ago. She leaned in to kiss me." He shrugs. "IT is what it is. Getting past things." Not that that was the only kiss they have shared lately, but it is that one along with one in the head that is still in his mind.

"Let go." Gen says gently. "Sometimes it's the best thing." Her expression tightens briefly, but she leaves it there.

Luc nods and let out another breath. "I will. She just. Confused me is all. It won't happen again." He tells her and runs a hand through his hair. Grinning teaseful at her. "So if you ever get bored…" He teases and chuckles. Though his eyes staying on the fire rather than anything. Still remembering the child most likely.

Iphigenia's brows lift. She's not sure what that was exactly, so she just offers him a tight smile and slips away, to give him time to reflect.

Luc only offers a brief glance and a nod to her before looking back to the fire. "It was only a tease, chaplain. No need to worry." Staying still and reflect upon all and just processing for now. Feeling the heat against his face.
