Hangar Bay - Deck 3 - Battlestar Orion
Each hangar deck is divided into five one-hundred yard sections, each divided from the others by massive blast doors that close vertically from the floor and overhead. Each hangar section houses all of the Vipers, Raptors, and Predators that the wing operates as well as the vital work areas to support and maintain these fighting platforms. Each bay is large enough to accommodate one of these frames and still get heavy work done, though the fore- and aft-most sections are dedicated to overhauls and major work to be done. The bays along the center section are located across from launch tubes and elevators in order to provide scramble and Alert-Five capabilities. The second-to-aft bay provides major elevator and transport access to the starboard bay as well as the major manufacturing facility. Due to the nature of the work, the hangar decks are major hubs of activity at all hours of the day and all but four hours overnight.
AWD #274

Lleufer got the note from Toby when he went to the Security Hub to pick up his replacement battle armour. The MP Sergeant is going around checking his list to gather his kit in preparation of returning to Picon. Ynyr's got a bandage on the back of his neck up by his skull, another on his right hand, that are visible but don't seem to be serious wounds. Taking it a little easy lifting as his chest still aches but he doesn't have to carry his heavy gear to the Raptor just yet. He comes into the Hangar Bay and pauses to nab someone in passing, "You seen Crewman Shackleton? I need to speak to him."

Toby is back at work once more and currently lugging spent CO2 scrubbers from raptors to the disposal point. He's easy enough to spot and comes heading back towards Lleufer and his cornered tech as he finishes withone load and returns to get another. As he spots his fellow gesturing to him he diverts towards the pair, offering a brief nod in greeting as he gets there, and another to let the specalist know that he's got this. "Sergeant," he offers briefly, "got the note I take it? Wasn't sure when you were going to be onboard so figured I'd drop it off."

The Marine gives Toby a nod, "Wise of you. I got shot up a bit, which is key to getting a decent night's rest, a proper hot shower with real soap, and more than one meal in a day. However, vacation time is over and I need to get my ass back down dirtside. I have a few minutes to spare if you'd like to update me on what you have discovered concerning Sheperd's missing Raptor on Piraeus?"

"I'll keep it quick then," Toby notes, not sounding particularly dispointed that he isn't going to get to lecture on the plan. "Basically, I spoke to a few ECOs and we figured that anything that might usually send out a signal is going to have been disabled, or run out of power given the time." Seems reason so far he hopes. "So that left us with either trawling the whole surface with a maggy, which could take years and 'll pick up natural sources too, or switching an ECO's consoul to use linear rather than circular polarity. THhey;re off doing a few calculations to see if we'd one raptor or two, and how much set up would need to change, but we're confident it'll work. Should light up the bird on DRADIS like a bonfire."

Lleufer raises both of his brows, "Really? Why, if that works … that could be very useful in several applications." Ynyr folds his arms over his chest as he stands slightly hip shot. The Hangar is of course a busy place so he keeps half an eye and ear open in case Lleu needs to get his butt out of somebody's way. He gives Toby a look, "That's very good news, thanks, Shackleton. Still could be like searching for a needle in a haystack but it's a better chance than I was expecting."

Toby nods once, "it'll do the same for other metalic objects, so less useful in other places, but yeah. Exact search range on each pass is one of the things they're calculating when they get the chance but I figure there's no major rush on it right now as we're hardly going to get a raptor or two plus crews spare in the near future. Figured you;d like to know though."

"True and true, but on the other hand, not like Piraeus is littered with old metal buildings and rusting cars. So it may be easier in this case." Lleu lays a hand lightly on Toby's shoulder, "Doing good work, Shackleton. Thanks for looking into it for me. When things settle down here and we /can/ get back there, we'll follow it up and see what we can do."

"Exactly," Toby replies with a firm nod, "outside of Sheridan we should be laughing. Just as I said, less likely to be useful as an option for CSAR here and such." There's a faint flicker of his eyes to his shoulder as the marine touches it, but he's happy enough that he's not being patronised so he merely shrugs once, "I'll let you know when they get back to me with the other details."

The contact is brief. Lleu's not a touchy-feely sort anyway but it was a moment's comradery. "Sounds good. Should anything happen to me that I can't follow it up later, do make sure someone does." Ynyr skims a hand through his freshly rebuzzed hair, "Anyway, time for me to get my boots back down. Thanks, Shackleton." The MP is ready to go if Toby hasn't anything more to add.

Toby isn't either, and has been known before to enforce his personal space when required. Nothing is said though, at least on that matter. "I will, and if it's the other way then you want Lieutenant Durnst and the Nugget, they're the ones doing the hard work." Like coming up with the idea, understanding it, doing the calcs and eventually flying. As Lleufer makes to move though he just nods and takes a step back to signal that he's done, then turns to get back with his own work.

"Durnst and Nugget, got it." Some nick name they call pilots in training, right? Ynyr watches Toby for a moment and allows his gaze to slip over the Hangar Bay before he goes. Kind of hard to imagine missing the Orion when he's very much a blue skies over head fella, but Lleu does. Then he heads out.
