RE: Humanitarian Mission to Reeding, Picon

INCIDENT SUMMARY

On 6 November 2005 a combined force of Navy Pilots, Medical Department personnel and members of Charlie and Dog Platoons, Charlies Company, 3rd Battalion 8th Marines were dispatched to provide humanitarian aid to the residents of the mining town Reeding, Picon.

Upon arrival the Marine contengent immediatly set up security positiosn and with in approximately the town and those providing the aid came under attack by Centurians. The Raptors that provice transportation to Reeding immediatly lifted off and proceeded to provide air cover and engaged the enemy allowing the CMC personnel to engage and defeat those of the enemy forces that had advanced into the Town.

Casualties to the CMC personnel were limited to minor wounds to Staff Sargent Carmine Beckwith, who was returned to the Orion and underwent medical treatment.

One Raptor was brought down after sustaining severe damge, both Pilot and ECO were recovered and have also been transfered to the Orion for medical aid.

The attacking enemy forces were defeated and it is believed that all were killed during the action.
