COLONIAL FLEET MEMORANDUM

RE: Helios Delta Second Recon
INCIDENT SUMMARY
On the night of 26 July, 2005, a Raptor departed for Aquria in the Helios Delta system. Aboard were myself and LTJG Springthorpe. When we jumped in near the planet, the DRADIS was clear, and the visual inspection was, as well. We flew in closer to the planet, and after another clean sweep, we went in. There were unclear reports, which I will call hearsay, about 'cans' and 'Raiders', and some very faint indications of occupation or enemy elements. However, none were visually sighted. After some discussion, LTJG Springthorpe and I decided to leave the area and report what we had seen.
Our next stop was Aerilon. The battle still rages strongly there, with possible stalemate. Before we could get a better impression, we were spotted by a full squadron of Raiders, and we were forced to jump.
Canceron was our final stop, and it was to be expected from earlier reports: a nuclear wasteland.
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend we take further action to reconnoiter Aquaria. We did not feel prepared to make contact at that time, without backup. It would be in the possible survivors' best interest to have us at least check things out.
