Nestled between two rocky ranges is the emergency beacon for where the CAG's raptor went down. Set near the middle of the valley is a river that cuts through the rich and forested lands. The site is nearly 500 miles from Sheridan, which explains why local teams could not find out where the Raptor went down at. Smoke from where the Raptor slammed into a mountain on the otherside of the valley still waifts into the air, the vehicle's fuel and ammo stores still burning off and exploding is small pop pops on occassion. Could that be where the pilot and ECO are located?
Zachary glances up from where they are, and grabs a discarded fish head and chucks it into the makeshift tent. "Ygraine, wake up! I hear a flight!" he calls out, trying to get the ECO's attention and get her outside with the flare gun.
Ygraine snaps awake with a snort. Blinkind rapidly she clambers out of their makeshift tent and peers up into the sky. It takes her a moment, and then huskily, "There." Clambering over to her pack, she fumbles with it before grasping the flare gun, and then standing up straight, leans her head back and lifts her hands to the sky. She pulls the trigger, and the smke and light launch into the air.
Zachary does hear flight. In fact the SAR raptor comes around the edge of the mountain top, following the plumes of smoke and fire. As it edges around and into view the side door is open and it lowers down, bringing its mask closer do the crash sight as figures inside the Raptor can be seen reaching out for an extended rope. There isa bit of talk and the Raptor moves itself closer to the trees and the chute. The rope is lowered, extending downward as the Raptor lowers closer.
It's engines hum and are nearly deafening this close at full hover. One figure swings out on the rope and down they slide. Its a rise to the ground but slows as they get close. Booted feet land and knees bend, taking the brunt before the figure rises up. Two more follow. Afton is moving then, bringing herself towards the chute.
Siska followed the PJs down the rope. Oddly in black battle dress, the S4 straightens his weapon and makes for the chutes location too.
Leaning on his makeshift crutch, Zachary moves to push himself to his feet, slow and painful as he places a hand to his head and winces. "…well, I think the family reunion is over, Ygraine. Don't use up all your condoms in one go, even if you have more than the entire 7th fleet." he comments as he offers her a small smile, limping towards where the group is dropping in.
There's a piercing howl that breaks the twilight stillness. The fire has died out, rescue is inbound, and the Direwolves are realizing that an easy meal is about to get away. They start to rush through the woods, closing in on the wounded pilot and ECO.
"There ya go, makin' it all about business with my nethers again." drawls Ygraine. "Frak, the wolves are back." The flare gun is dropped, and her sidearm is reached for.
"Well, as you said, buisness will soon be booming." Zachary retorts, grabbing for his pistol. "Seven rounds left. You?" he asks her, as he leans on his crutch.
Siska allows the PJs to move ahead of him since they are the one who could actually provide medical care for them. "Major. Its good to see yo…" His words cut short by the movement nearby. He immidately swings his rifle up to bare on the targets.
Weapons are always packed just in case and after their last incident on the ground, it was a good idea too. Afton notes the wolves and she calls to Siska. "Incoming native hostiles. We got wolves again!" THat is for Kalum and she pulls her rifle free of her shoulder and hits the safety off. "Down sirs!" She calls and doesn't aim near the two pilots, but rather shoots off a warning shot at first, to try to scare the wolves. She motions her hand down for them to get low or out of the way.
She rushes in, gettng a clear shot finally and aims down on the first wolf, squeeze.
"Eight." Ygraine says. "I took less shots than you last night."
"Yeah, I was a little trigger happy." Zachary admits as he looks up. Rushing towards them is the small pack of wolves. "They heard the dinner bell." he says, trying to fall back at a half step and brings his pistol up. "Engage!" he calls out, opening fire on the wolves bearing down on them.
The larger.. alpha female of the group seems to watch with pride as her children go to work on the softer targets. The large female snorts in the air, and starts towards the S4, sulking in the darkness as she closes in on Siska and then lunges, jaws snapping open to try to grab a hold of the Marine and throw him around like a ragdoll.

Siska trains his sight on the wolf attacking the DCAG. A single round leaves the rifle and cuts thru the wolf's neck, breaking the animal's air passage. The marine wastes no time in celebrations and promply rolls out of the flying wolf's lunge.
With only one wolf standing, Afton lowers her rifle and rushes for Ygraine who has collapsed near one of the down wolves. She is offering her rifle to Ygraine to use. "Shoot if you need but I am going to get a looka t you." She says and stares at the neck wound, bleeding aas it is. She frowns some and begins to pull out the cause and wrapping to field dress her for the ride back. The PJ begins to quickly set the wound as best she can.
Ygraine lets out a shriek as the wolves fall on her, and once they're taken down, her eyes are wild and she's panting from fear. She nods numbly at Afton, bracing the rifle and sort of vaguely mutters, "Am I bleedin'? Am I bleedin'? I think I'm bleedin'…" Her hold on the rifle is pretty solid, though.
The wolves are able to get into the two pilots, as they open fire, Zachary's shot going wide and slamming into a tree as he screams in pain as his leg is latched onto just above where the shrapnel from the crash tore through his leg.
The Alpha, seeing her babies get cut down by these… two legged things growls, and lunges again towards the S4, attempting to grab a hold of the Marine. Comere you.
Zachary crawls along the ground towards Ygraine and Afton, wincing every time his leg drags along the ground and looks towards Afton. "Need me to keep pressure on it, Jumper?" he asks, looking up at Afton with a simple look on his face. Ygraine is one of his kids, don't let her die. He glances at Ygraine and frowns, "You were supposed to wait until we were back on the ship for me to retun the favor." he corrects her, "Get her on board first, she's the more serious of us." Says the man with the bleeding head wound.

As Siska goes down and a rough binding is put quickly onto Ygraine's wounds, Afton is drawing her sidearm and clicking off the safety. The wolf seems to have a new target and that is her newest patient. She narrows her eyes, letting out a slow breath and letting loose as she tries to keep the thing back from attacking the downed ECO.
With Afton turning her attention to defending them, Zachary presses his hand to Ygraine's neck, holding the pressure there. "You are no more bleeding than if you nicked yourself while shaving.." he tries to say confidently, a weak smile offered.
As Siska falls, the Alpha snarls in his face, but the splattering of bullets around her gets her to withdraw. She turns and lunges towards the young blonde in the middle of the group, the one that killed one of her babies already.
The beast lunges again and manages to latch on to Ron's midsection. His vest is torn as the wolf swings him over herself and towards a nearby tree. The injury is moderate, and Siska manages to bring the rifle up to fire at the wolf. He's in pain, but he is not out.
Ygraine braces the rifle against her, tilting her head so Afton can do her work. Her upper lip lifts in a snarl showing teeth as she fires at the last wolf, unable to help asking Afton absently, "Guys dig chicks with scars, right?"

"Damn it!" Afton hisses as she misses and the thing latches onto Ygraine again. She has no time to answer Ygraine at present, in fact she swings her arms quickly and aims right at the wolf, narrowing her eyes as she watches it round on her and fires another shot.
While peppered with bullets, the large wolf charges in and rakes it's claws sharply through Ygraine's flightsuit, ripping into flesh and bone before it slides along the ground, bullets smacking into it and all around.
Zachary releases his pressure on Ygraine's neck as he brings up his pistol and starts firing at the damnable creature, even as the wolf is turning, circling her captives and prepares to take a swipe at Afton as she runs past the Jumper.
Siska squeezed off a round from his rifle and the shot only grazes the ear of the direwolf. "No. No No!" He switches off the burst setting on his weapon and fires again.
Ygraine's body arches and twists with the direction of the creatures claws, and she screams in pain as now both arms have been assaulted mercilessly, along with her neck. Pain hysteria makes her brave though, and it doesn't keep her from firing on the hideous beast.

The wolf lunges one last time, slamming into Afton as she fires into the creature, the bullets slamming into her. The large paw slams against the Jumper's head, before it slumps, falling over the woman and pinning her to the ground.
"Afton!" Zachary yells, throwing aside his pistol to start to try to push the large wolf off of the jumper. "Son of a bitch, Afton, answer me!"
That is not something that usually happens, but Piraeus is a brave new world. Those claws are not avoided, sadly and she feels them tear into her stitches and along the side of her cheek. She lets out a cry of pain and blinks, trying to see past the sudden well of blood that rushes down her face. She winces some, trying to move and can't get the massive wolf off of her. "I am here…sir…here. Just fine…" Save for the bleeding.
"Um…" Ygraine's voice is weak and trembly, "…owwww." That's really all she has to say.
"Siska, get more Raptors down here to evacuate us all." Zachary says. "Use my override if they give you any grief." he says as he dresses Afton's head and frowns. "I am never ever camping here."
"Ygraine?" Zachary adds. "..tell me you're okay." he comments, ready to move to her if he needs to.
Dizzy is all really, dizzy and the PJ pushes up and off. "I am fine! I was cleared, sir…" She is stubbornly getting him off of her. "It will hold.." She takes a moment, sucking in a breath before she grabs at her gear and drags herself towards the ECO. "What the hell…" But Zachary gets a look as well. "You both need treatment, now…get that Raptor down here."
"I'm okay…" she sounds a bit shocky. "I'm bleeding a lot, but I'm okay. I think when I get to Orion, I want drugs. Like, the maximum allotment of drugs…" She giggles, but it comes out a bit sobby. Wimp.
Siska kneels down near Yggs and radios in for raptor help.
"Don't worry, Ygraine, we'll have you so stoned, you'll find Garrido attractive." That's pretty damned stoned. Zachary continues to treat the wound as Siska radios for the flight and soon, a flight of three Raptors is making a clearing to collect the wounded and take them back to the Orion.
