RE: After Action Report, Cylon Evacuation of Aerilon
INCIDENT SUMMARY
A composite organization led by this officer was deployed on 14 October 2006 to the surface of Aerilon to oversee the evacuation of 100 Cylon Centurions from the planet, in accordance with the cease-fire terms. As the landing ship was on final approach, APF personnel in concealed positions launched Surface-to-Air Missiles at the landing ship, destroying it. The debris caused the destruction of many Centurions, and the wounding of Marine personnel. During the initial recovery efforts, terrain disturbances characteristic of 'spider holes' were noticed from the same bearing as the SAM launch, as the Marine force was engaged by entrenched, previously concealed, APF forces. As the engagement continued, Cylon Centurions engaged alongside the Marines, acting as mobile bunkers to protect our advance. Sadly, APF resistance was intense, causing many casualties, including at least 1 Marine (SGT Penelope Kapali) KIA. Friendly air support was required to finally neutralize the APF forces and evacuate all Marines and attached Colonial personnel.
