Colonial Conditions

Previous information concerning the state of the Colonies pre-leap (second Cylon War) can be found by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. The information below specifically pertains to the current condition of the colonies POST-Leap, after the Orion returned from its accidental time-leap returning from Calumet.

Below players will find a listing of information about what is known and the current conditions on the colonies and the rest of the Cyrannus System. This information can be considered IC for the playerbase for the purposes of planning and discussion. For now, it is not to be edited by players yet. Once we get a better feel and more players running operations, it will be opened up for editing. This information is to be considered 'Word of God' and supersedes all rumors and other information as fact, directly from Orion Staff. Because of the nature of the game, some of the locations will have far more information than others. A lack of information does not imply that there is nothing to be found out or discovered.

Information is for amending only, not deletion.

Important Notes (READ ME)

  1. SUPPORT NEEDED sections are mission ideas for players to consider when looking to plan new strikes or operations.
  2. NPCs are listed and have been seen on grid. Any NPC with a wikipage should have their pagename as 'npc-<lastname>' and who controls this NPC should be listed. Players who create pages for their NPCs (this is allowed) are limited to one picture and a minimal amount of information and details just to keep the character scope in mind. Those NPCs who look more like PCs to staff will be taken over to staff control or removed. FOR NOW, all NPC's should be approved via a simple +req to indicate position, rank, function, etc. Staff-controlled NPCs are available only by request.
  3. NPC Errata — NPCs are generally free to be handled within reason. Restricted from any use without staff permission: Skinjobs (unless you are a player assigned one), Special Forces (this includes snipers), officers over LTJG, enlisted over Sergeant/PO2, politicians representing more than 10,000 people (a town), or concept that do not fit the location (pilots on Aerilon, NPCs from Tauron after Warday, etc). If you have a question about whether or not something is okay to be NPC'd it is always better to ask first.
  4. Considerations — If you are running something in a local area, respect what is written here as canon and law. If something is listed as 'never', respect that decision. In some cases what is put down here is very precise for a very specific reason. Discarding it as 'the exception' can cause problems. Additionally, some of these areas are huge, such as the asteroid belts. They will take months to recon. As with NPCs, it is always better to ask first.
  5. Limitations — As with considerations, do not go against information established below. Also, do not hold scenes to forward projects (ie. recovering intact Cylon equipment) without permission from staff first. Discovery of new information via PRP, such as SAM capabilities or the identity of skinjobs, should not be done without permission as well. Items like that should always go through staff first regardless of where your character is.

Helios Alpha

Caprica

Total loss. Upper atmosphere radiation levels in excess of 1.6Mrad. This exceeds Raptor tolerances. There is a very large quarter-ring forming in planetary orbit made-up of debris for a naval engagement. Preliminary confirmation on Battlestar Archer destroyed as well as two Arpay Carriers, names unknown. Hundreds of ships. Maybe more. Two Skath raiders jumped in behind the Raptor and split either side before rejoining and moving off.

  • Survivors: None. Entire planet is radiologically toxic

Gemenon

Gemenon was heavily nuked at the onset of the second Cylon War and is considered a total loss.

Picon

Skath ships in orbit, number unknown. Encrypted Skath communications detected. Isotopes in upper atmosphere consistent with EMP detonations in the past and no colonial communications detected. Extensive farming seen on surface but no lights seen on night side so primitive conditions as observed elsewhere assumed. CFAS Crandall is intact but cannot confirm friendly. Open pit iron mine observed. Massive structure sited but unidentified but possibly resurrection site.

  • SUPPORT NEEDED: Unknown
  • Survivors: Unknown in number, but present.

Tauron

Not Scanned Yet.
Tauron was heavily nuked at the onset of the second War and is considered a total loss.

Icarus

Zeus

Not Scanned Yet.

Minos

Not Scanned Yet.

Persephone

Not Scanned Yet.

Helios Beta

Leonis

Skath Occupation fleet destroyed in joint miliatary action between Colonial Forces and Cylons. Assume regarrisoned, but not yet confirmed. Evidence of EMP detonations. Planet intact but cities wiped out with low yield, precision nuclear strikes. Past use of EMPs detected in atmospher, no Colonial transmissions detected. Human population appears to be focused on farms around small scale hubs consisting of central townships, each with walled structures. Larger clusters of farms also found around areas that appear to be Skath Ressurection facilities. Large scale collections of Sabre sites and tanks found hidden in woodland, apparently in storage, no IR traces detected, but some buildings in proximity show sines of shielding.
Previously had a population of approx 125 million citizens.

  • SUPPORT NEEDED: Unknown
  • Survivors: Unknown in number, but present.

Virgon

Not Scanned Yet.
Virgon was completely destroyed during the onset of the Second War and the ensuing asteroid belt is not expected to hold anything of interest.

Hibernia

Not Scanned Yet.
This was Virgon's moon and was considered habitable but is now on an unpredictable orbit. There were no residents here before the Orion left for Calumet, and this is not expected to change.

Troy

Not Scanned Yet.
Troy was massively hit during the onset of the Second War and was considered a complete loss. The surface is dotted with the wreckages of its domed cities.

Pallas

Not Scanned Yet.

Ouranos Asteroid Belt

Not Scanned Yet.

Hera

Not Scanned Yet.

Helios Gamma

Libran

L-Band early warning dradis emissions from orbit consistent with at least six Skath carriers. No abnormal readings in atmosphere to suggest use of EMPs. The former capital city has been built over with some kind of walled fortress city about ten miles in diameter with a large 'royal style' residence. The site of the former Colonial base has razed and a large temple or similar structure has been built. Many farms identifed.

  • SUPPORT NEEDED: Unknown
  • Survivors: Unknown

Sagittaron

Not Scanned Yet.
Sagittaron was heavily nuked at the onset of the second War and does not contain biological life.

Scorpia

Not Scanned Yet.
The surface of Scorpia was lightly nuked at the onset of the second War. Most of the wreckage of the Scorpian Fleet Yards and the related ships crashed to the surface of the southern hemisphere and was not cleaned up. Colony effectly abandoned after second war, no expectation that this has changed.

  • SUPPORT NEEDED: Unknown
  • Survivors: Unknown. None expected

Thanatos

Not Scanned Yet.
A small planet with a corrosive 'sulphur' dioxide atmosphere. This planet is tidally locked to the star, and aptly named for the god of death. This place is dead and strategically useless. Nothing there and it is not patrolled.

Acheron Asteroid Belt

Not Scanned Yet.

Ophion

Not Scanned Yet.
A frigid gas giant with diameter of 51,000 km, and an inclined orbit. The planet has 14 moons, all smaller than 10 km in diameter. Studies on the planet have Colonial scientists thinking that Ragnar was originally a member of the Helios Gamma system, while Ophion was not. Scientists think that Ophion was a rouge planet that passed close to Ragnar and was caught by the star, pushing Ragnar into its current orbit around the entire Gamma/Delta system.

Helios Delta

Aerilon

Three Skath strike carries in orbit with their accompanying battle groups. Evidence of EMP detonations in the atmosphere leaving the planet intact but cities wiped out with low yield nukes as with Leonis. No Colonial transmissions detected. Wreckage found of huge cylon basestar crashed into surface at somepoint when Orion was in the Galactic Core.
Of Note Several skath raiders spotted the raptor as it jumped in, but made no move to attack. Then, after about a minute, sent an unencoded text signal to the Raptor showing they knew hwer eit came from, and theat it should leave.
Aerilon previously had a population of several hundred million and was one of the primary resistance colonies of the Second Cylon War.

  • SUPPORT NEEDED: Unknown
  • Survivors: Unknown in number, but present.

Aquaria

Large scale Skath fishing operation in progress. 15% of main landmass now turned into ports and other support facilities. No colonial radio transmissions but signs of large population to work the ports, Surface navy consisting of icebreakers and huge fishing vessels noted, suggesting some degree of industrial technology, but crewing of such vessels undetermined. Huge skypads included in the construction allowing the catch to be transported off world in large scale craft manned by Lines. Bad weather during recon limited analysis of defensive capabilities.

  • SUPPORT NEEDED: Unknown
  • Survivors: Unknown in number, but present.

Canceron

Not Scanned Yet.
Canceron was heavily nuked at the onset of the Second Cylon War and is expected to remain a dead zone.
