RE: Recon Mission: Helios Delta

INCIDENT SUMMARY

Introduction

At 09:00 hours on 12 February 2005, LTJG Pletarii and I undertook a reconnaissance mission to Helios Delta to check for survivors at the other planets and astronomical bodies within the system. This does not include the Colonies within Delta.

Phoebe

Despite a thorough search of the planetary body, there was no contact with any other ships or wreckage. No sign of Cylon patrol.

Hestia

Our recon spent approximately four hours on station at Hestia to search the upper atmosphere and conduct fly-bys of the 17 moons. There were several attempts to make contact and radio silence was broken to attempt this. There were no contacts with anything out of the ordinary, only the few dead survey satellites which are more than one hundred years old. No sign of Cylon patrol.

Styx

Despite a thorough search of the planetary body, there was no contact with any other ships or wreckage. No sign of Cylon patrol.

Aeolus Asteroid Belt

Aelous was searched last, our recon passing us towards the section near asteroid AAX-99504-1J. Through out recons we observed no jump activity around the belt despite it being outside DRADIS range. Our recon made a quick pass over the 'top' of the belt and LTJG Pletarii chirped the DRADIS several times and we made a very brief radio call. We had intermittent contact with an anomalous signal that was hidden in with the rotational beacon of pulsar PSR 1412+19, though not emanating from the pulsar. The source was indeterminate. Working on the same frequency, there was something attached to the beginning and end of the precise moment of the rotational beacon. We were unable to break it out with our equipment aboard. Logs recorded and stored.

FULL REPORT

Please see attached. (OOCly, this scene was performed by NPCs due to the lack of anything discoverable among three planets and the inability to find anything on the first pass through Aeolus.)
