INCIDENT SUMMARY

On 13 January 2005 myself and Lieutenant JG Sava completed the initial reconnaissance of Helios Beta. Because of time and fuel considerations we were limited to three locations. Virgon, Leonis, and Troy were chosen. Observations to follow in the order they were taken.

Leonis

Low orbit achieved around Leonis. No sign of nuclear attacks upon facing hemisphere. Civilian transport observed jumping in with escort of two raiders. Transport and escort continued toward planet surface without any sign of detection. Civilian activity and radio traffic detected at transport's destination. High speed, low altitude inspection revealed massed civilians in a possible prison camp. Missiles fired, no hits. One tree struck and wedged in rear starboard landing gear, removed by deck crew upon return.

Troy

Low orbit achieved around Troy. All three atmospheric domes destroyed via unknown ballistic impact. No signs of life detected. A single Basestar jumped in on intercept course and low altitude cover was taken to avoid detection until FTL engines respooled for third jump.

Virgon

High orbit chosen for Virgon because of anticipated higher risk. Massive wreckage field surrounds planet for several thousand kilometers. No Basestar debris detected, only Colonial Fleet debris. Virgon Anchorage de-orbited and remains detected upon planet surface. Impact of Anchorage coupled with nuclear strikes has caused massive tectonic fracture and subsequent upheaval to northern continent. No sign of survivors detected. Southern continent may harbour survivors.
